Kava bowl By Dontae

What we learned in room 12 making a kava bowl.

We had to make a kava bowl out of the coconut shell.

This is what celebrate for samoa language week.

First we had to use the metal rulers to get all of the hair off the coconut and when we did that we had to make it smooth so the hair does not get in the coconut.

Next we had to crack the coconut open so we could drink the coconut water.

Then we got the scraper to scrape the coconut meat from the shell.  But when we scraped the coconut from the shell some people got the hair in the coconut meat and Mr Raj was mad cause they got the hair in it.

It was cool that we all got a try at  everything. I liked the shape of it because it was round and smooth .

Tragedy and trauma

2000 march 8th is when a sad tragic event struck at Motufoua mixed Secondary school on the island vaitupu. A fire broke out, in one of the many dormitories, a girl had been studying for an exam, she held a candle underneath her blanket, the blanket got caught on  fire. 18 girls managed to escape while 18 thoroughly burned to their very deaths. Tragedy and trauma

THAT WAS SUMMER

Have you ever felt summer? Sure You Have!

Remember that time when I saw a big juice and bit into it like it was a big mac. It was so good that I got in trouble cause it

was for the Otie but Ididn’t care cause I ate more but then my sister snitched on me so I had to go to my dad cause he was mad.

That was Summer.

Have you ever smelt Summer? Sure you have!

Remember that time when you could smell the food cooking on the bbq and could smell it from down the road even to the park. It smelt so good that I went home and tried to get one piece but my dad saw so he said put it back and I did. I did it again and my dad saw me again and he said “You’re not gonna eat so I just went to my room mad.

That was Summer!

Remember that time when you could hear the waves crashing together. You can hear the waves going up and down in the sea. It was so cool that they were so humongous. It was so good I was always getting pushed by the huge waves.

That was summer
